Here are 5 of the biggest red flags to watch out for when choosing an aesthetics clinic:
Shady Supplies
Reputable companies (like the makers of Botox® and Juvederm®) only sell to licensed physicians.
The Red Flag: If there's no doctor overseeing the practice, where are they getting their products? They may be using "grey market" or counterfeit fillers that aren't FDA-approved.
No Safety Net
Complications like blocked blood flow (vascular occlusions) are rare but very serious. They require the immediate prescription and administration of a "rescue enzyme" to prevent tissue damage.
